Harnessing Data Center Cooling for Renewable Energy: TESUP Wind Turbines Shine
A groundbreaking study from the Universidad a Distancia de Madrid and Grupo ZFB has unveiled an exciting innovation: using TESUP wind turbines to turn wasted wind from data center cooling systems into clean energy.
The Challenge
Data centers around the world use powerful cooling systems to prevent overheating. These systems expel warm air, creating an untapped wind resource.
The Solution

Researchers selected TESUP V7 vertical wind turbines for their compact and lightweight design. Installed above cooling fans at a Colombian data center, the turbines generated 513.82MWh annually, with a net reduction of 467.6MWh after accounting for fan energy consumption. This innovative setup avoided the emission of 300 metric tons of CO2 each year.
This breakthrough demonstrates how TESUP turbines can turn overlooked energy sources into impactful solutions. Whether it’s rooftops, backyards, or cooling systems, TESUP continues to push the boundaries of renewable energy.
Why It Matters
Businesses can reduce their carbon footprint while improving efficiency by repurposing existing resources for clean energy. It’s a win for both the planet and the bottom line.
The Future is Here
Compact and adaptable solutions like TESUP turbines are paving the way for a greener, smarter future. Let’s lead the way toward sustainable energy innovation.
