The Tesup Irradiance Sensor is part of TESUP’s professional sensor range, designed to collect accurate environmental data in small-scale renewable energy systems. This photovoltaic pyranometer, based on a reference cell, is ideal for residential rooftops and compact solar setups—especially when used in conjunction with wind turbines.

It measures solar irradiance in watts per square metre (W/m²), enabling precise calculation of the performance ratio (PR) of PV systems. The design prioritises simplicity and cost-efficiency, ensuring reliable performance without unnecessary complexity.

With a measuring range of 0 to 1600 W/m², each sensor is tested under real sunlight using a reference cell certified by the Fraunhofer ISE Institute in Germany. It transmits data via a digital RS485 interface using the MODBUS RTU protocol, and requires a 5V DC power supply. The sensor is fully compatible with the Tesup Atlas Wind Turbine and the Tesup Wizard, making it a great choice for rooftop PV systems, hybrid solar-wind configurations, and off-grid applications.

The device measures 118 x 84 x 55 mm and weighs only 0.2 kg. Installation is quick and straightforward, with seamless integration into Tesup systems.

Monitor your energy production smartly and accurately with the Tesup Irradiance Sensor—designed for the needs of small-scale solar users across New Zealand.

Exactly what our home needed

The Atlas has been running beautifully at our place — quiet, steady output even in light wind, and the MyTESUP app makes it easy to keep an eye on. Really impressed with the build quality.

Hello, I purchased the Atlas 10 kW wind turbine along with the blade set, and it's working perfectly.

Hello, I purchased the Atlas 10 kW wind turbine along with the blade set, and it's working perfectly. Assembling the blade set was a bit of a challenge, and a few screws were missing, but everything came together in the end. Delivery took slightly longer than expected, but I’m very happy with the final result. Many thanks to the TESUP team. You have my full rating — 5 out of 5. I’m already considering buying an inverter as I plan to move fully off-grid. Wishing you all a great day. — Carina Magnus

Northern Pole research missions, Magnum

ordered the first versions of the TESUP Magnum wind turbines in 2018 for Northern Pole research missions, and they have been generating electricity reliably in some of the roughest conditions on Earth.

I am satisfied with

I have set up 1 TESUP vertical 5 kW turbine, 2 small 12V turbines (from China), and a water turbine in my little creek that provides 200W constantly. All were set up by myself. I am satisfied and not planning to sell the TESUP.
