Inside the Magnum — Industrial-Grade Engineering

The motor inside Magnum is genuinely 15 kW continuous-rated — 50% more capacity than typical 10 kW competitors. This headroom protects the generator from gusts and dramatically extends service life.

  • 12-pole, 36-slot, 3-phase distributed stator winding — fractional-slot configuration for minimal cogging torque and sinusoidal voltage output
  • 90 wires per stator slot — 2 parallel strands × 45 turns of 0.70 mm Class 200°C enamelled copper (IEC 60317-13 GR 2), the insulation grade used in industrial servomotors and EV drivetrains, CE / UL certified
  • Parallel-strand bundling doubles current capacity and distributes heat across multiple thin conductors — motor runs cold even at sustained full load
  • 4 kg of pure copper total winding mass — exceptional thermal reservoir
  • 24-magnet rotor with NdFeB N42 super magnets — bread-shape (~60×25×5 mm, nickel-coated), 180 cm³ total magnet volume
  • Skewed magnet mounting — reduces cogging torque by ~80%, smoother torque curve and longer bearing life
  • Silicon-steel laminated stator core — 240 individual 0.5 mm electrical-steel sheets stacked to 12 cm total height, ~16 cm outer diameter. Transformer/motor-grade construction that minimises eddy current losses (versus cheap cast-iron cores that overheat)
  • ±0.05 mm precision tolerances across all machined components
  • 2.35 m rotor diameter with aerodynamically optimized carbon fibre composite blades — 4.34 m² swept area
  • Adjustable voltage limit (0–400 V max) — when paired with a TESUP charge controller (sold separately), set via MyTESUP mobile app or potentiometer; auto-brakes the turbine in overvoltage conditions (storm protection)
  • Generator dimensions: stator Ø16 cm × 12 cm height (2.4 L); 24 magnets at 60×25×5 mm = 180 cm³ total

How power is calculated

Available wind power follows P = ½ × ρ × A × V³ × Cp × η. Wind speed (V) is cubed — small increases produce dramatic output gains. Magnum's carbon-fibre blade aerodynamics reach Cp 0.45 in good wind. Combined with 95% electrical efficiency from the parallel-strand premium copper winding and bigger 60×25×5 mm magnets, Magnum extracts ~43% of available wind energy as electricity — at the top of the small horizontal-axis class.

Product Features

  • The world's most powerful household horizontal wind turbine

TESUP Magnum generates 12 kW of power standalone, capable of meeting daily household electric needs.

  • Durable and Resistant to Weather Conditions

The corrosion-resistant carbon fiber body is capable of operating at extremely cold temperatures, down to -50°C.

  • Rotation at Low Wind Speed

Rotation starts at a wind speed as low as 3 m/s, and from there, it continues spinning smoothly and effortlessly thanks to its large wind-catching surface area.

  • Easy and Quick Installation

The product can be installed in just around 40 minutes. Watch how to do it by clicking the link.

  • Double the Power

It can also be combined with TESUP solar panels for optimal energy production.

  • Sell to the Grid

The electricity generated by Magnum can also be sold to the grid by using an inverter.

  • 1 Year Warranty

The product comes with a 2-year TESUP Care Product Warranty, providing peace of mind and ensuring that your investment is protected.

  • How to Use

Please keep in mind that the wind turbine needs to be installed following the user manual which can be found in “The Book by TESUP”and under ideal weather conditions to reach its maximum power generation potential.

This product is compatible with connection to the electrical board at various output power settings. However, it may only be connected to a power socket after the necessary adjustments in accordance with country-specific regulations have been made.

  • Grid connection and the right inverter

A grid-tie inverter feeds the energy your Magnum generates into your home and sells the surplus to the grid — using every kilowatt as it is produced, more efficiently than batteries. For wind, choose a non-MPPT, wind-rated inverter: solar-style MPPT can over-load the rotor and stall it, while a non-MPPT inverter lets the blades spin freely across changing wind speeds.

  • Engineered from 400+ parts — and why the right setup matters

A flexible solar panel is essentially four bonded layers — an ETFE front, EVA, the cells and a backsheet, all of which TESUP also manufactures. A wind turbine is a different order of engineering: a TESUP turbine is built from over 400 precision parts — the blades, a custom generator with its windings and magnets, bearings, electronics and structure. That sophistication is also why the setup matters: the wrong inverter, controller or battery voltage can over-load and stall the rotor, or leave it unloaded to over-speed — both stress the machine and can damage it. Paired with a correctly specified, wind-rated (non-MPPT) inverter it runs safely for years, generating clean energy day and night, even when the sun isn't shining. Choosing wind is real action for the climate.

Northern Pole research missions, Magnum
Review by Dwayn M.
Atlantic-Gold-Corp. ordered the first versions of the TESUP Magnum wind turbines in 2018 for Northern Pole research missions, and they have been generating electricity reliably in some of the roughest conditions on Earth.
